Theatre Corps
THEATRE CORPS is the second step in the SonShine Theatre Program.
As part of the CORPS this year, students will prepare two junior-length musical productions for performance. Within the context of preparing those shows, they will learn about all aspects of production, both onstage and off. Areas of instruction will include acting, vocal projection, singing, dancing, theatre terminology, directing, choreography, blocking, sets, props, lighting, sound, and backstage management. This class will offer a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative effort under the direction of the instructors. This class is for ages 10-14 and is excellent preparation for joining the SONSHINE THEATRE TROUPE.
There will be additional extended rehearsals required at the end of each semester, as the play date draws near. In addition, students are expected to work on their songs, dances, and scenes at home. Parents may be asked to volunteer time to help with needs that arise.
Dance shoes are required for this class. Instructors will specify color and type of shoes required for each semester.
