THEATRE TROUPE is the third step in the SonShine Theatre Program.

 

As part of the TROUPE this year, students will prepare two junior-length musical productions for performance.   Within the context of preparing those shows, rehearsals will be focused on building the dance, vocal, and acting skills of each student. With guidance from instructors, some students may be given leadership opportunities, while others will work on various aspects of the show such as set, props, and costumes. This class is for experienced students age 13 and up, or beginners age 15 and up. 

 

There will be additional extended rehearsals required at the end of each semester, as the play date draws near.  In addition, students are expected to work on their songs, dances, and scenes at home. Parents may be asked to volunteer time to help with needs that arise. 

 

Dance shoes are required for this class. Instructors will specify color and type of shoes required for each semester. 

 

This is a demanding class. An excellent attitude, a humble heart, and a strong work ethic are necessities for success in this group.
